Woodhall Spa 10k Community Road Race

Great News for 2023

Jubilee Park and Woodhall Spa 10K are delighted to confirm that the future of the Woodhall Spa 10k is in good hands and the 2023 race will go ahead after securing the support and cooperation of Curly’s Athletes. Curly’s Athletes are a great fit for us and their extensive involvement with charity and community races was a great bonus, their mantra of “Purpose before profit” fits perfectly with our event and organisational ethos.

We are really looking forward to working with them to deliver the 2023 race and beyond.

We look forward to welcoming runners and supporters back to Jubilee Park and the start line.

Hello runners,

It is with great regret that we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Woodhall Spa 10K and Family Fun Run which was due to take place on 6 June.

For the past six months, we have been working hard to find a solution to make the 2021 event viable whilst ensuring the enjoyment and safety of our competitors, spectators, marshals and volunteers, including discussions with Run Britain and the British Association of Road Races. Unfortunately, owing to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and the lifting of lockdown restrictions we feel it is the most appropriate decision to suspend the 2021 event and give clarity by making the announcement now. The indications that restrictions on large group gatherings and social distancing will still be in place into the summer coupled with an inability for many of our volunteer groups to get together within their own setting let alone discuss whether they are able to support the 10K mean that the logistics for this year’s event just become too complicated.

We understand that this decision will be met with disappointment by our many competitors and supporters, but we know you recognise the responsibility we have to all our race and community stakeholders to stage a safe and successful event.

We look forward to hosting next year’s 10K race on Sunday 12 June 2022 and hope you will save the date to include us in your race calendars.

Please note – we will be supporting a virtual 10k and details will be published here and on our Facebook page in the next few days. Your support for this event will be greatly appreciated as it will be raising valuable funds to support Jubilee Park.

We thank you again for your understanding and send you all our very best wishes to keep well.

Important information for competitors
Please take time before the event to read the information below to make your run as smooth as possible. As long as you have followed the guidelines below you will not need to register on the day,
so we will see you at the Start Line!
Race Number:
  • Race Packs are sent out after 1st April by second class post. Entries made after this date will be processed as soon as practically possible, remember this event is organised entirely by volunteers.
  • If more than one entry is sent to an address, the names of each entrant will be written on the race number to avoid confusion with timings and results.
  • Please complete all the details on the reverse of your race number in block capitals before you arrive at the park. If you suffer from a medical condition or are allergic to certain drugs please state the details on the rear of your number.
  • You must wear your race number on your chest and ensure it is fastened securely and it is visible. If you lose or fail to wear your race number, your completion time will not be recorded.
  • Remember your race number is also your timing chip, under no circumstances should it be passed to anyone else.
  • Transfers will close 1 week prior to the event, after this date NO transfers are available. Please Note - There will also be NO transfers on the day!
  • Your race number is disposable and therefore doesn't need to be returned at the finish line.

Car Parking:
Car Parking is at a premium in Woodhall Spa & an additional 1000 + cars in the village adds to the problem, please allow plenty of time to park your car. With so many people arriving in the village at the same time traffic congestion is unavoidable, please follow the directions to the available car parks; marshals will be on hand to direct you. You will be asked to pay for parking - £1 per car. This money goes directly to a charity nominated by the landowner.

Please use the details below to plan your parking & where ever possible consider car sharing
  1. Green Lane – This is the main car park & is accessed via Mill Lane, off Witham Road. Access will be temporarily closed at 10 am to allow the Fun Run to start safely but will be reopened after the Fun Run has passed. This is the preferred car park & the closest to the finish.
  2. Woodhall Spa Football Club & Abbey Lane – This will be the preferred car park when the Green Lane car park is closed or full. Access to Jubilee Park via Witham Road & King Edward Road.
  3. Jubilee Park  Only suitable for those arriving after 10 am. This Car Park will be closed until 10 am when we close the Green Lane Car Park for the Fun Run. It will be open for swimmers & residents BUT please don’t head for it as a 10k runner as you will be turned away before 10 am.
  4. St Hugh’s School, Stanhope Avenue – Ideal for those travelling from Horncastle, turn left opposite Peter Scott Shoe Shop, car park can be found on the right at the end of Stanhope Road.

Start & Finish Timing:
The start is situated on Monument Road which is to the left of the entrance to Jubilee Park – volunteer marshals will be on hand to direct you. Please allow plenty of time as competitors start to congregate at the Start 15 mins before the race commences.  The finish line is also in Jubilee Park, except for the wheelchair competitors who will finish on the road - both are clearly marked.
Start times for the events are as follows:
